The Bed Stuy Campaign Against Hunger is embarking on the next stage of its history. Since its founding in 1998, BSCAH has grown from a small emergency food provider operating out of a church basement, to the far-reaching nonprofit organization we know it to be today. BSCAH fights to alleviate hunger in our community by providing emergency food to over 11,000 of our neighbors every month. BSCAH has expanded to include on-site social service support, health screenings, and a robust educational arm that engages community members of all ages and backgrounds in forging more healthful, self-sufficient, and productive lives. BSCAH has built an Urban Farm that supplies fresh produce for our pantry customers, in the process becoming a community symbol of how to strive for food justice and environmental sustainability. All of this growth is underscored by BSCAH’s central belief in community dignity and empowerment. You have been a part of making this happen, and we thank you for your support.
Now there is an opportunity to join us in reaching the next level. The Bed Stuy Campaign Against Hunger is raising funds to expand its operations to the building between our offices and pantry. There are many exciting possibilities imagined for this space: an on-site medical office, social service, classroom space for healthy cooking demonstrations, workshops and exercise classes,… The list goes on. We have no shortage of vision for ways to continue moving our community forward toward healthier, more sustainable lives. This new space will eliminate long lines as families will be able to be seated as they wait to be served.
An individual donor has given BSCAH the unbelievably generous gift of $15,000 in matching funds for this capital campaign. Every dollar you contribute will have twice the impact in helping our organization and your community to reach these goals. We hope that you will choose to take part in the next chapter.
We ask that you use the form below to help BSCAH match this grant.
