Help Restore Our Hoop House
On Monday, February 13th, New York City experienced a storm with wind levels up to 50 MPH. There was a wind advisory in effect from 2 am to 6 pm Monday, causing damage throughout the five boroughs.
Unfortunately, our farm did not make it out unscathed. We arrived the following morning to find significant damage to our hoop house at Saratoga Farm. The plastic lining was completely broken and blown off the frame onto the ground. The plants inside were covered with ice and snow and many of our pots and buckets had been destroyed or blown away. This timing is extremely challenging for us, because our spring planting season starts next week.
Now more than ever, it is important that we get back to business immediately to start growing healthy, natural food for our community, and we need your help!
There are more than $6,000 in damages that need to be repaired in order to start planting for spring. Please make a gift today that will bring our urban farm back to life and restore the luscious greens that sustain the health and vitality of our neighborhood!
Thank you for your ongoing support and generosity. Together, we can get BSCAH’s farm back up and running in time for spring growing!
