Health 360
BSCAH’s Health 360 is our comprehensive approach at ensuring that clients learn about the basics of healthy living starting with good nutrition. Unlike traditional nutrition programs, Health 360 focuses on honoring cultural and communal traditions to assist our neighbors make healthy choices. Clients are first introduced to Health 360 during intake and are supported throughout their experience with BSCAH.
On a weekly basis, our clients experience a cooking class where fresh produce is donated from a nearby farmers market. Volunteer instructors and nutritionists teach participants how to create healthy meals for themselves and their families. Participants leave the class with enough produce to practice the recipes at home. These classes are hugely popular with families with younger children, with children often outnumbering adults in each class.
Our seniors and those suffering with obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes are encouraged to participate in our regular fitness services lead by certified, volunteer trainers.
