Donate Money
Providing food and support services for more than 9,000 neighbors per month requires significant financial resources. Our donors allow us to maintain and initiate services filled with dignity and innovation. We offer several vehicles for our supporters to ensure that all interested individuals may find the best opportunity to end hunger for some of New York’s neediest families.
Join Our Community’s Approach to Caring by becoming a Virtual Neighbor™ supporting any of the following programs
BEE’ing Against Hunger
Bed Stuy has the highest rate of asthma in the city. Locally harvested honey is known to aid allergy sufferers. Donating to this program will get you a bottle of organic honey and allow us to provide beekeeping training and organic honey and produce to families who need it most. We’re proud of our farm and bee hive training program. To learn more, please contact us.
Virtual Neighbor™’s “Block Party”
Help us increase awareness about hunger by hosting a Virtual Neighbor™’s “Block Party”. You set the goal and encourage your friends and family to help you reach it. Our Block Party Virtual Neighbor™’s receive a personal web page provided by First Giving. $35 provides a family with 9 meals. How many families will your party help?
Virtual Neighbor™’s Cup of Sugar
Sweeten the lives of a family struggling with inner city poverty by sponsoring a Virtual Neighbor™’s Cup of Sugar: A Virtual Neighbor Cup of Sugar supports BSCAH activities such as the Victory Garden, stipends for the Green Teens, computer and job training for unemployed adults.
Virtual Neighbor™’s “Matching Gift”
You may be able to double, or even triple, your contribution to BSCAH if your employer offers a matching-gift program. Just send us the matching-gift form (usually from your company’s Human Resources Department) along with your check, and we will handle the rest. It’s as easy as A-B-C.

Green Teens
At BSCAH we believe that it’s important that our community not be left behind in the in the next Green Teens is our green leadership development program. Its purpose is to expose and educate young adults to urban gardening while providing training in community focused leadership. wave Green Teens manage our Victory Garden, introducing our younger clients to its produce, engaging our seniors in planting and daily care and directing each harvest at our neediest neighbors.
Urban Farm
In 2008, we launched Bed Stuy’s first community focused urban farm referred to as the Victory Garden. While inner city communities are not known for greenspace, through the help of volunteers and community members we converted vacant lots into our productive Urban Farm yielding thousands of pounds of fresh, organic produce. For an in-depth look at our farm, check out our URBAN FARM PORTAL.
